I am wondering if it would not be safer to buy natural baby products or organics today?

Posted by admin on Aug 16, 2009

With pet foods being poison now and human food also, and clothes manmade, it seems we are subject to all sorts of health issues. Maybe it is time to switch back to the old ways and forget this modern stuff that is killing us? What do you think? Is it time for mom to pay attention to her sweet baby and the natural marketplace?

I would use organic if I were you.

It’s SO time to go back to the natural old ways. I’d love nothing more than a cultural revolution. I go organic all the way whenever I possibly can.

It’s better to buy organic whole food and use a small food mill and make your own babyfood. It’s not that difficult. I did it with both my children. Just remember to avoid seasonings. Baby’s tummy can’t take them yet. I kept a food mill in their diaper bag at all times and one at home. I boiled organic meat, fruits and vegetables and froze them in small freezer bags. I would pop a couple of frozen bags into the diaper bag whenever we’d go out. They’d defrost before needed and all I had to do was put them in the mill and fresh, healthy baby food was only seconds away.

My mom and I were talking about that yesterday. I’m so fearful of today’s man made stuff, that I want to do things the way she did with me 27years ago.

Being a mom today is scary. Theres all this new stuff that hasn’t passed the test of time. Organic food-we don’t know how it is fertilized. Think spinach, green onions, lettuce. THose have been scares this year. Perhaps we should be making the food ourselves. But I don’t know how.

You have captured my biggest fear with your question. feel free to email me with thoughts.

I agree…. with all of my kids I have used Burts Bees products — they are all natural, I am not sure if organic or not- but they are all wonderful!

depending on age I would fix food for myself and feed my child what I ate so I knew what I was feeding her -him .
I’m not talking processed foods I mean real food you cook.

listen up , aint nothing changed , its all the same , all it depends on is what trend you follow. talk to a mother of the 60’s 70’s and 80’s and find out what style of baby food they were feeding and then find a brand , by your own budgetary restraints and actual taste tests { why feed your baby something that youd refuse to do ? } and then act accordingly . its that simple , as is how i know what ? what ?

Cows milk was made for calfs, if you want your baby to grow to be a cow, give him the ‘whole" thing. but I don’t think goats milk was made for kids, or not human kids.

If you live in an area where you can grow your own veggies- it’s the perfect food. There is nothing that tastes better then a veggie pulled off the vine and put onto your plate.

I always made my babyfood from fresh food. This way I knew my babies were getting the healthies food with less chemicals and additives and no chance of finding glass or other foriegn objects in the food.

Below are two excerpts from two websites. The links are listed below.

Organic food is produced according to certain production standards. For crops, it means they were grown without the use of conventional pesticides, artificial fertilizers or sewage sludge, and that they were processed without ionizing radiation or food additives. For animals, it means they were reared without the routine use of antibiotics and without the use of growth hormones. Also, at all levels, organic food is produced without the use of genetically modified organisms.[1]

There is no legal definition as to what constitutes a "natural" food. However, the food industry uses the term "natural" to indicate that a food has been minimally processed and is preservative-free. Natural foods can include organic foods, but not all natural foods are organic.

way past time to start paying attention to these things. but, one must remember, dispite truth in labeling laws in america, organic is not always organic. and as far as labeling is concerned "natural" is no more than a marketing term.

of course this means never eating prepared food, whether out of a can or box, or from a restaurant.
