How about this as a alternate or?

possible solution for the health care issue. Kill cap and trade. Give tax breaks and incentives for company’s to stay in the U.S. Lower taxes and get people to work for the company’s that can afford to be here and make a profit thus enabling millions of employees to be able to afford health insurance. Let the Insurance company’s compete across state boarders coast to coast in turn keeping it very affordable. Take the rest of the so called stimulus money and invest it in education so that people can become educated to fill the jobs that are here in our country. It’s a thought. There will still be the slackers that won’t work. The ones that are unable to work. But it could be a start to a better way than total government control of health care thus in your life way more than you want. Why not?

Makes way too much sense. It’ll never fly in Congress.

You need to add: increase education standards here so a Master’s degree from the U.S. isn’t the equivalent of a high school diploma in Asia.

You can add that the insurance companies should be regulated to ensure that premiums stay low. I do not trust them to regulate themselves.

I think you’re kind of on the right track. I would say:

First- Pass the Fair Tax(H.R.25/S.296) and repeal the 16th amendment. The entire text of this bill which would replace the current tax code which is 70,000 pages and which has been amended over 16,000 times since the last reform in 1986. This would accomplish keeping companies in the U.S. and would encourage other U.S. companies that are in foreign countries to come back to this country. It would also be very attractive to foreign companies. There would be no need for tax breaks or credits, no need for lobbyists, no more I.R.S., and April 15th would be just another spring day. It would reduce the cost of doing business thus allowing the costs of goods and services to drop. If you didn’t have enough money to by something you wanted, you could put your money in the bank and earn interest TAX FREE. This would make it easier for you to save up for something instead of borrowing and paying high interest rates.
Second- Yes, we should be able to buy insurance from companies in other states. I would also say that if the Fair Tax was passed we may be able to get back to what insurance was originally meant for, catastrophic care. Since people would be able to keep their whole paycheck and costs would be fair, they could pay for the little things out of pocket and keep insurance JUST for those big things IF they were to come along. This means that the insurance companies would not have to pay out as much and premiums wouldn’t need to be so high.
Third- Education should go back to being run by the states. The federal government doesn’t have the constitutional power to take over education and different students in different states have different needs. It’s is best left to each state to fulfill those specific needs.
Fourth- We do need tort reform, but things may not be so bad if the economy is truly good for everybody under the Fair Tax. With the current tax system many less fortunate people will jump at the chance to stick it to a doctor or hospital that they believe is rich, in order to make some easy money. They don’t see the possibility of getting out of poverty when the government takes big chunks of every paycheck and charges fees for EVERYTHING. Then if they happen to be able to save a little money in the bank and earn interest, there’s the government looking for their cut. So when a lawyer comes to them and says they should sue that hospital or that doctor, it is VERY tempting.
I agree that we need government out of our lives as much as possible and I also believe the Fair Tax is the way to accomplish this. It is transparent, simple, revenue neutral and your social security number will no longer be tied to every aspect of your life. This makes your identity more secure.

I loved your article and the recommendations provided about dog insurance. There are thousands of opinions out there on dog insurance that are both savvy and bad. If you have any more suggestions concerning dog insurance, that would be greatly appreciated. Keep up the great writing!
